About Me
History
I was born the only child to a rural farming family in the rolling hills of southern Ohio. My parent's farm's fields ran adjacent to my grandparent's farm's fields and I spent my early years walking the breadth of every inch of those 200 acres. Our life was simple and not complicated with the complex worries of modern life; now as an adult, I find myself sorely missing the endless innocent days I spent with my family. My grandfather and grandmother have since passed, and I feel a great sadness that the sense of simplicity that I felt as a child passed away with them.
My musical tastes take many forms and I find that I have a palette for a broad spectrum of tastes. Maywood presents me with the opportunity to reflect on the simple values and memories of life in a simpler time.

Passion and Intent
Born from a rustic sentimentalism, these songs reflect on the emotions that guide and define the process of coming of age. Simple melodies and delicate arrangements provide a gentle medium for the lyrics to cut through; these are thinking songs, initiated by the passion to discern between the cynicism of life and the itch of healing scars that speak of the burns and cuts we earned when we were having the best times or worst times of our lives.
